Universal HD
Universal HD is a high definition simulcast channel from NBC Universal.Universal HD broadcasts the same schedule as the standard definition channel, Universal. Content is broadcast in high definition where available, or is upscaled where it is not available in high definition.
Broadcasting at a higher bitrate, the picture quality of even upscaled content is improved when compared to the standard definition channel.
How to watch Universal HD
Universal HD is a subscription channel, which means that it is encrypted and is only available on a Sky HD box with a viewing card that has the HD Pack enabled. Universal HD is included in the HD Pack (currently charged at £10 per month) when you also subscribe to the Variety Pack.You will find Universal HD on Sky Guide Channel 113.
History of Universal HD
Universal HD launched on 28th June 2010 on Sky Digital.Around the 5th October 2010, Universal HD was changed to require a subscription to the HD Pack and the Variety Pack.
On the 18th October 2010, this channel, previously called Hallmark HD was rebranded as Universal HD.
On the 1st February 2011, Universal HD moved to channel 113 from 220 as part of the HD Swap
