Sky 1 HD

Sky1 HD is a high definition simulcast channel from Sky.

Sky1 HD broadcasts the same schedule as the standard definition channel, Sky1. Content is broadcast in high definition where available, or is upscaled where it is not available in high definition.

Broadcasting at a higher bitrate, the picture quality of even upscaled content is improved when compared to the standard definition channel.

How to watch Sky 1 HD

Sky1 HD is a subscription channel, which means that it is encrypted and is only available on a Sky HD box with a viewing card that has the HD Pack enabled. Sky1 HD is included in the HD Pack (currently charged at £10 per month) when you also subscribe to the Variety Pack.

You will find Sky 1 HD on Sky Guide Channel 106.

History of Sky 1 HD

Sky1 HD launched at the launch of Sky HD in May 2006.

A new Sky1 HD logo which was introduced when the channel rebranded on 31st August 2008.

Around the 5th October 2010, Sky1 HD was changed to require a subscription to the HD Pack and the Variety Pack.
