SyFy HD

SyFy HD is a high definition simulcast channel from NBC Universal.

SyFy HD broadcasts the same schedule as the standard definition channel, SyFy. Content is broadcast in high definition where available, or is upscaled where it is not available in high definition.

Broadcasting at a higher bitrate, the picture quality of even upscaled content is improved when compared to the standard definition channel.

How to watch SyFy HD

SyFy HD is a subscription channel, which means that it is encrypted and is only available on a Sky HD box with a viewing card that has the HD Pack enabled. SyFy HD is included in the HD Pack (currently charged at £10 per month) when you also subscribe to the Variety Pack.

You will find SyFy HD on Sky Guide Channel 114.

History of SyFy HD

SyFy HD launched on 26th January 2009 and was the 31st High Definition channel to launch on Sky Digital.

Around the 5th October 2010, SyFy HD was changed to require a subscription to the HD Pack and the Variety Pack.

On the 1st February 2011, SyFy HD moved to channel 114 from 214 as part of the HD Swap
